Silently she flows under the starlight sky,
And goes unaffected as the old clock chimes,
Sometimes gushing, most of the time dry,
She meanders in the valley of time.
Often visited by clueless mortals,
They dive in head first and hit rock bottom,
Sadly their existence is soon forgotten,
But their destination remains forever immortal.
She is guided by valour but threatened by fear,
She is helped by joy but followed by tears,
She is blessed by hope yet cursed by pain.
Yet her journey continues in the night time rain;
Does she ever pause to rest a while?
Does she get better with age like well preserved wine?
These questions remains unanswered and boggle the mind.
Yet LIFE silently meanders in the valley of time.
